EU publishes revised Combined Common Customs Tariff and Statistical Nomenclature

Updated: Dec 28, 2019

On October 9, 2019, the European Union (EU) published the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1776 amending Annex I to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 and establishing the Combined Nomenclature for the EU.

This new edition will fully replace the current text of the Combined Nomenclature (CN), effective January 1, 2020.

What is the Combined Nomenclature?

The Combined Nomenclature is drawn up to meet the requirements of the Common Customs Tariff and the Statistical Nomenclature of the EU. The amendment is necessary to keep the Common Customs Tariff in line with the external trade policy objectives of the EU, to remain aligned to international agreements and to, where necessary, adapt its structure to meet modernization.
