EU SPS: CHED P - the entry document for POAO and Composites. What data is required?
Food (POAO) producers must collect the right amount of data to complete the Common Health Entry Document (CHED). What information is required?
On 14 December 2019 the Official Controls Regulation (OCR) - Regulation (EU) 2017/625 entered into force.
To this day, the Common Health Entrance Documents (CHEDs) for the entry of animals and products into the EU are mandatory.
CHED-P is the Common Health Entrance Document for consignments of goods of animal origin, germinal products, and animal by-products subject to official restrictions upon admission into the Union.

The CHED-P is issued by the operators in control of the cargo, properly known as the "operators responsible for the consignment" - abbreviated as the RFC.
The CHED requires the RFC to notify the appropriate authorities at the border control post (BCP) of the arrival of the consignment (Part I).
The appropriate authorities then inform the RFC of the cargo's arrival (Part II).
CHED-P is utilised for animal products, germinal products, animal by-products, hay and straw, and meals comprising both plant and animal ingredients.

Article 47
Animals and goods subject to official controls at border control posts
1. To ascertain compliance with the rules referred to in Article 1(2), the competent authorities shall perform official controls, at the border control post of first arrival into the Union, on each consignment of the following categories of animals and goods entering the Union:
(b) products of animal origin, germinal products, animal by-products, hay and straw and foodstuffs containing both products of plant origin and processed products of animal origin (‘composite products’);
