Export Control Updates
The U.S. DDTC notified Congress of proposed export licenses for defence items, including firearms and military equipment, worth $1 million to $50 million, destined for countries like Sweden and Saudi Arabia.
The UK also announced updates to the Strategic Export Control List, effective 20 May 2025, revising controlled items and export control fines. We have the details
Sanctions Updates
The UK has announced its largest-ever sanctions package targeting Russia’s shadow fleet of oil tankers, aiming to disrupt Kremlin war funding, protect critical subsea infrastructure, and reinforce security cooperation with allies. We have the details! We also have a SPECIAL REPORT on UK Sanctions list, which keeps expending. Of course, our UK Financial Sanctions Guide continues with focusing on sanctions exceptions.
This week, the EU’s 17th sanctions package continues its focus on Russia, targeting businesses in Vietnam and Turkey that are allegedly facilitating Russia’s attempts to evade sanctions.
The U.S. Department of Treasury has designated Viv Ansanm and Gran Grif as Global Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). These groups are heavily involved in cybercrime, human trafficking, and other illicit activities.
