What are INNs?

Import Information Notes are technical documents containing import requirements, and are for use by veterinary staff at Border Control Posts. They provide a summary of general conditions and veterinary checks for imports of live animals and animal products from outside the EU (known as third countries) and from Member States of the European Union. Import Information Notes may not cover situations where emergency safeguard action has been taken to prohibit the importation of certain animals/products from countries following an outbreak of serious disease.
