This week's other focus is a closer look at the new AMLA Website, which is the EU-AML agency. AML is part of export compliance, and fighting financial crime needs to be part and parcel of what we do as export control & sanctions professionals.
On the sanctions front, the UK has sanctioned an unprecedented number of Russian oil tankers, targeting Putin's shadow fleet. Last week, eighteen more ships were barred from UK ports, bringing the total sanctioned fleet to 43. These vessels are part of Russia’s covert operations to evade sanctions and pose severe environmental and trade security risks.
