UK: Customs debt liability

What happens if you underpay import or export duties and who is responsible for the debt. Guidance has been updated about customs debt notification letters and who is liable for customs debt through indirect representation.


UK: Official customs seals and trader sealing Guidance

Guidance by HMRC has been updated to recognise official customs seals and how authorised traders can use their seals in place of official customs seals. The ‘Check official customs seals’ section has been updated with information about the breakage or removal of official seals. ‘Trader seals which are accepted by HMRC from 20 June 2022’ has been updated to show seals accepted by HMRC from 20 October 2023.

UK: Customs Declarations Service (CDS): Check Out Latest Changes

Hey, UK customs brokers! Stay updated on the latest changes to the UK Customs Declarations Service (CDS) Data Elements for speedy and compliant customs declarations. This week there were changes to Data Element 4/3, DE 1/11 as well as the "Known error workarounds" Document.


UK CDS Exports: Switch Over Delayed To 2024

HMRC announced a phased transition to the deadline to switch to the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) for exports on August 23. Now, by Saturday, March 30, 2024, only export declarations should be submitted through CDS. Read our Guide.

Germany: Export control - New adjustments at GEA (AGG) since September 1, 2023

Forms E2 and C88 are no longer required when using the Customs Declaration Service, so the section describing what you will need has been updated.
